    PQP Leadership Project

    Transforming French Education Through Collaborative Feedback

    This site showcases a leadership project developed as part of the OISE Principal's Qualification Program (PQP). It presents a comprehensive, research-based framework for improving French language education through collaborative feedback, culturally responsive teaching, and student-centred practices. The project was designed for a school's French department and includes protocols, tools, implementation plans, and a leadership reflection.

    School-specific references have been anonymized. The framework, research base, tools, and leadership approach are original to this project.

    Challenges

    Our Current Reality

    We're facing some real challenges in our French Department:

    High teacher turnover has created inconsistent experiences for students
    50% of Grade 9 students drop French before Grade 10
    Students report feeling disconnected from traditional French class approaches
    Many students struggle with speaking French and find classes repetitive
    We have minimal enrollment in Higher Level IB French
